Hello world!

Oct 10 2010

My name is Jamie and I’m currently attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I absolutely love it here because it’s gorgeous all year long. I’m a Political Science major but my emphasis is on Pre-Law studies. Before you start to hate me, I’m not sure if I want to be a lawyer just yet, I’ve still got a couple years to figure that out.

I’m a TA (teaching assistant) to one of my past professors and it’s an awesome job for a full-time college student. I can work whenever and wherever so the flexibility is amazing. The only problem I’m having so far, is answering emails from my friendsĀ at all hours of the day. I bought this fancy new phone that can literally do anything, but I’m not sure if I like being “on call.” I answer emails when I wake up, before I go to bed, and every time in between! It’s kind of a weird feeling, I think I’m too young for this!

What do you think? Is being connected one of the advantages of our generation? Or should we consider going off the grid once in a while? Share your thoughts!”

I think being “on call” would be kind of exciting! Just not all day every day, which sounds like it might be for you. Is there a way to have a part time on call job? Hah, wishful thinking I guess.

In response to your question, I think being connected definitely is one of the advantages of our generation. Look at this blog for example! Two college girls talking from different states over some underwear! Hehe, it’s great! We never would have been able to do this without being connected over the internet. Butttt, it definitely has it’s appropriate place and time. So during your school hours, I’d make sure to stay focused and not let the job get in the way of your schooling too much! College is already hard enough!!
